paride_register() returns 1 on success, 0 on failure and module init code looks like static int __init foo_init(void) { return paride_register(&foo) - 1; } which is not what one get used to. Converted to usual 0/-E convention. In case of kbic driver, unwind registration. It was just return (paride_register(&k951)||paride_register(&k971))-1; Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

fit3.c is a low-level protocol driver for newer models
of the Fidelity International Technology parallel port adapter.
This adapter is used in their TransDisk 3000 portable
hard-drives, as well as CD-ROM, PD-CD and other devices.
The TD-2000 and certain older devices use a different protocol.
Try the fit2 protocol module with them.
NB: The FIT adapters do not appear to support the control
registers. So, we map ALT_STATUS to STATUS and NO-OP writes
to the device control register - this means that IDE reset
will not work on these devices.
