Only accept dynids whose driver_data value matches one of the driver's
pci_driver_id entries. This prevents the user from accidentally passing
values the drivers do not expect.

The driver flag dynids.use_driver_data is almost consistently not set,
and causes more problems than it solves. It was initially intended as a
flag to indicate whether a driver's usage of driver_data had been
carefully inspected and was ready for values from userspace. That audit
was never done, so most drivers just get a 0 for driver_data when new
IDs are added from userspace via sysfs. So remove the flag, allowing
drivers to see the data directly (a followon patch validates the passed
driver_data value against what the drivers expect).

The legacy i2c binding model is phasing out, so the ams driver needs
to be converted to a new-style i2c driver. Here is a naive approach of
this conversion. Basically it is moving the i2c device creation from
the ams driver to the i2c-powermac driver. This should work, but I
suspect we could come up with something cleaner by declaring the i2c
device as part of the platform setup. This could be done later by
someone more familiar with openfirmware-based platforms than I am
myself.
One nice thing brought by this conversion is that the ams driver
should be loaded automatically on systems where is is needed (at
least when the I2C interface to the chip is used) providing
coldplug-aware user-space environment.

The two Tyan SMBus mux drivers (i2c-amd756-s4882 and i2c-nforce2-s4985)
are only useful on specific x86 motherboards, so there is no point in
letting them be built on other architectures.

The i2c-parport-light driver isn't a real platform driver, so it
should not instantiate platform devices with resources. The resource
management system can't cope with colliding resources, and we are
likely to create such a colliding resource.
So, better just try to grab the I/O ports we need right at module
initialization time, and bail out if we can't. It has the added
benefit that the module will no longer load if it isn't going to work,
which is definitely more user-friendly.

This adds support for the SMBus adapter found in the various FPGAs on
the Renesas Highlander platforms. Particularly the R0P7780LC0011RL and
R0P7785LC0011RL FPGAs.
Functionality is fairly restricted, in that only byte and block data
transfers are supported. Normal/fast mode and IRQ/polling are also
supported. Primarily used for various RTCs and thermal sensors.

Grabbing ISA bus resources without anything or anyone telling us we
should can break boot on randconfig/allyesconfig builds by keeping
resources that are in fact owned by different hardware busy and does
as reported by Ingo Molnar.
Generally it's also dangerous to just poke at random I/O ports and
especially those in the range where other old easily confused ISA
hardware might live.
For this specialized I2C bus driver, insist that the user specifies
the resources before grabbing them.
The^WA user of this driver is a one time
echo "options i2c-pca-isa base=0x330 irq=10" >> /etc/modprobe.conf
away from the old behaviour.

This patch suppresses I2C device probing by clearing the class field
of the "struct i2c_adapter" for the MPC I2C bus adapters. Some board
configurations which rely on probing must be fixed up by adding a
proper I2C device node to the DTS file, like the TQM85xx modules.

Add fast_mode option to i2c_pxa_platform_data and use it to set the
ICR_FM bit appropriately when i2c_pxa_reset is called. Parameter
called fast_mode rather than frequency as this driver is also used
for the i2c_pxa_pwr bus which has different normal and fast frequencies.

Properly hook the I2C driver into the PM code; the previous fix for
this (ece5f7b3c4) worked around the
platform where I2C is required to be available early during resume.
It has been found to be sufficient to use the early resume hook for
this function, so the original hack can die. Leave the hack in
place for the PIO transfer handler though.

This patch teaches the i2c-sh_mobile driver to make use of wait irqs.
Without this patch only dte irqs are used which may lead to overruns
and cases of missing stop and extra bytes being read on the i2c bus.
Use of wait irqs forces the hardware to pause and wait until the cpu
is ready. Polling is also reworked in this patch to fix ms delay issues.
Verified with bus analyzer and tested on MigoR and AP325RXA boards.

The two I2C bus multiplexer drivers (i2c-amd756-s4882 and
i2c-nforce2-s4985) make use of the bus they want to multiplex before
checking if it is really present. Swap the instructions to test for
presence first. This fixes a oops reported by Ingo Molnar.

Allow the platform data to specify the bus bumber that the
new I2C bus will be given. This is to allow the use of the
board registration mechanism to specify the new style of
I2C device registration which allows boards to provide a
list of attached devices.
Note, as discussed on the mailing list, we have dropped
backwards compatibility of adding an dynamic bus number
as it should not affect most boards to have the bus pinned
to 0 if they have either not specified platform data for
driver. Any board supplying platform data will automatically
have the bus_num field set to 0, and anyone who needs the
driver on a different bus number can supply platform data
to set bus_num.

Clear i2c_adapter.dev on adapter removal. This makes it possible to
re-add the adapter at a later point, which some drivers
(i2c-amd756-s4882, i2c-nforce2-s4985) actually do.

Check for ACPI resource conflicts in i2c bus drivers. I've included
all recent SMBus master drivers for PC hardware.
I've voluntarily left out:
* Drivers that don't run on PCs: they can't conflict with ACPI.
* Bit-banged bus device drivers: it's very unlikely that ACPI would
deal with such buses.

The standard rtc-m41t80.c driver cannot be used with the SWARM as it is,
because the board does not provide setup information for the I2C core.
As a result the bus and the address to probe for the M41T80 chip is not
known.
Here is a set of changes that fix the problem:
1. swarm-i2c.c -- SWARM I2C board setup, currently for the M41T80 chip on
the bus #1 only (there is a MAX6654 temperature sensor on the bus #0
which may be added in the future if we have a driver for that chip).
2. The i2c-sibyte.c BCM1250A SMBus controller driver now registers its
buses as numbered so that board setup is correctly applied.

Move the check of pre-transaction and post-transaction conditions to
separate functions, and adjust them a bit. Having dedicated functions
for that ensures that errors are handled in a consistent way.
Bit HOST_BUSY of the status register is read-only, so writing to it is
certainly not going to clear it. If this bit is set then we simply
don't want to start the transaction, as it means that somebody else
(ACPI, SMM?) is already using the controller.

Enable the IBM I2C driver for all PPC4xx variants by adding
"ibm,iic" to the compatible list. This way all currently available
arch/powerpc 4xx ports can make use of this driver without any changes.
Additionally all "other" compatible entries are removed since they are
not needed anymore.
Currently all 4xx PPC's have the same compatible I2C macro. If at some
time an incompatibility is detected we can take care of this with an
additional property.

Let general purpose I2C/SMBus bus drivers add SPD to their class. Once
this is done, we will be able to tell the eeprom driver to only probe
for SPD EEPROMs and similar on these buses.
Note that I took a conservative approach here, adding I2C_CLASS_SPD to
many drivers that have no idea whether they can host SPD EEPROMs or not.
This is to make sure that the eeprom driver doesn't stop probing buses
where SPD EEPROMs or equivalent live.
So, bus driver maintainers and users should feel free to remove the SPD
class from drivers those buses never have SPD EEPROMs or they don't
want the eeprom driver to bind to them. Likewise, feel free to add the
SPD class to any bus driver I might have missed.

This driver uses the port of 2.4 code from Vitaly Bordug
<vitb@kernel.crashing.org> and the actual algorithm used by the i2c
driver of the DBox code on cvs.tuxboc.org from Felix Domke
(tmbinc@gmx.net) and Gillem (htoa@gmx.net) converted to an
of_platform_driver. Tested on CPM1 (MPC823 on dbox2 hardware) and
CPM2 (MPC8272).

Many PC SMBus host controller drivers don't properly handle the case
where they are requested to achieve a transaction they do not support.
Update them so that the consistently print a warning message and
return a single error value in this case.

The i2c-piix4 driver was used recently as a model to write a new SMBus
host controller driver and this made me realize that the code of this
old driver wasn't exactly good. So, here are many cleanups and minor
fixes to this driver, so that these minor mistakes aren't duplicated
again:
* Delete unused structure.
* Delete needless forward function declaration.
* Properly announce the SMBus host controller as we find it.
* Spell it SMBus not SMB.
* Return -EBUSY instead of -ENODEV when the I/O region is already in
use.
* Drop useless masks on the 7-bit address and the R/W bit.
* Reject block transaction requests with an invalid block length.
* Check and report block transaction replies with an invalid block
length.
* Delete a useless comment.

Tighten error paths used by various i2c adapters (mostly x86) so
they return real fault/errno codes instead of a "-1" (which is
most often interpreted as "-EPERM"). Build tested, with eyeball
review.
One minor initial goal is to have adapters consistently return
the code "-ENXIO" when addressing a device doesn't get an ACK
response, at least in the probe paths where they are already
good at stifling related logspam.

Just like the Tyan S4882, the S4985 uses a multiplexer to give access
to all 16 memory module SPD EEPROMs. This specific i2c-nforce2-s4985
driver adds support for this. It is heavily based on the older
i2c-amd756-s4882 driver.
As more mainboards will use multiplexer chips, we will have to find a
way to support them without having to write a new specfic driver for
each. The recent changes to the i2c subsystem should help us, and the
new gpio subsystem might help, too.

Interrupts are enabled at the point where the DAVINCI_I2C_IVR_REG is read,
so unless an interrupt happened just at that moment, no interrupt would be
pending. Even though documentation implies you should do this, I see no
reason. If slave support is added, this read would cause a hard to
reproduce bug.

We should check for the reception of an ACK after transmitting each
data byte. The address send has been correctly checking this, but the
data write byte state should have also been checking for these failures.
As part of the same fix, we remove the ACK checking from the receive
path where it should not have been checking for an ACK which our hardware
was sending.

There is a strange chip at 0x2e on the second SMBus channel of the
DFI Lanparty NF4 Expert motherboard. Accessing the chip reboots the
system. As there's nothing interesting on this SMBus channel, the
easiest and safest thing to do is to disable it on that board.
This is a better fix to bug #5889 than the it87 driver update that was
done originally:

The Alchemy platform code registers the SMBus device using the virtual
address of its registers instead of the physical one -- fix this, taking
into account that actually the whole megabyte is decoded by any of the
programmable serial controllers (one of which is SMBus), and that all the
Alchemy peripherals are directly mappable into KSEG1 kernel space and
therefore ioremap() call would just boil down to CKSEG1ADDR() invocation.

The frequency may have been once hardcoded to 100 kHz, but currently it is
passed as an argument to i2c_sibyte_add_bus(), so update the comment to
match code. While at it, reformat a nearby comment for consistency. No
functional changes.

We had a report that running sensors-detect on a Sapphire AM2RD790
motherbord killed the CPU. While the exact cause is still unknown,
I'd rather play it safe and prevent any access to the SMBus on that
machine by not letting the i2c-piix4 driver attach to the SMBus host
device on that machine. Also blacklist a similar board made by DFI.

Per the PIIX4 errata, there maybe a delay between setting the
start bit in the Smbus Host Controller Register and the transaction
actually starting. If the driver doesn't delay long enough, it
may appear that the transaction is complete when actually it
hasn't started, this may lead to bus collisions.
While 1 ms appears to be enough for most chips, the ServerWorks CSB5
wants 2 ms.

Alter the mpc i2c driver to use the NO_IRQ symbol instead of the constant
zero when checking for valid interrupts. NO_IRQ=-1 on ppc and NO_IRQ=0 on
powerpc so the checks against zero are not correct.

Based on earlier work by Jon Smirl and Jochen Friedrich.
Update most new-style i2c drivers to use standard module aliasing
instead of the old driver_name/type driver matching scheme. I've
left the video drivers apart (except for SoC camera drivers) as
they're a bit more diffcult to deal with, they'll have their own
patch later.

This is V5 of the SuperH Mobile I2C Controller Driver. A simple Master
only driver for the I2C block included in processors such as sh7343,
sh7722 and sh7723. Tested on a sh7722 MigoR using a rs5c732b rtc.
