Andres Salomon 68d482214b Input: psmouse - tweak PSMOUSE_DEFINE_ATTR to support raw set callbacks
We want to support attr->set callbacks that may need psmouse->state to
not be updated, or may want to manually deal w/ enabling and disabling
the device. To do that, we create __PSMOUSE_DEFINE_ATTR which enables
us to set a 'protect' argument specifying whether or not the set
callback should be protected with psmouse_disable and state setting.

Andres Salomon 8bf020ee96 Input: psmouse - add psmouse_queue_work() for ps/2 extension to make use of
psmouse_queue_work is passed a delayed_work struct, and queues up the work
with kpsmouse_wq. Since we're dealing with delayed_work stuff, this
also switches resync_work to a delayed_work struct as well, and makes
use of psmouse_queue_work when doing a resync within psmouse-base.

Henrik Rydberg cd72ad3f57 Input: bcm5974 - switch back to normal mode when closing
Staying in multi-touch mode after closing the device sometimes makes
the keyboard drop keys or repeat keys irratically. The conjecture is
that some internal buffer starts to overflow, resulting in undefined
behavior. Switching back to normal mode when closing the device makes
the problem go away.

ABS_X and ABS_Y events properly, which is what is needed for the
bcm5974-based apple computers to have a functional pointer out-of-the-box.

Henrik Rydberg 75e21e3f3b Input: bcm5974 - improve finger tracking and counting
The problem of finger tracking, i.e., when to switch focus from one
finger to another on the trackpad, has been improved by utilizing more
information from the bcm5974 chip output. This results in less pointer
hopping when many fingers are on the trackpad. In addition, a finger
counting method based on pressure information from all fingers is
introduced. Together with a pressure hysteresis window, this yields a
more stable counting of the number of fingers on the trackpad.

Jeff Garzik 1855256c49 drivers/firmware: const-ify DMI API and internals
Three main sets of changes:

1) dmi_get_system_info() return value should have been marked const,
since callers should not be changing that data.

2) const-ify DMI internals, since DMI firmware tables should,
whenever possible, be marked const to ensure we never ever write to
   that data area.

3) const-ify DMI API, to enable marking tables const where possible
   in low-level drivers.

And if we're really lucky, this might enable some additional
optimizations on the part of the compiler.

The bulk of the changes are #2 and #3, which are interrelated. #1 could
have been a separate patch, but it was so small compared to the others,
it was easier to roll it into this changeset.

Soeren Sonnenburg 5a6eb676d3 Input: appletouch - improve powersaving for Geyser3 devices
The appletouch geyser3 devices found in the Intel Macs (and possibly
some later PPC ones?) send a constant stream of packets after the first
touch. This results in the kernel waking up around once every couple of
milliseconds to process them, making it almost impossible to spend any
significant amount of time in C3 state on a dynamic HZ kernel. Sending
the mode initialization code makes the device shut up until it's touched
again. This patch does so after receiving 10 packets with no interesting
content.

Tejun Heo 7b595756ec sysfs: kill unnecessary attribute->owner
sysfs is now completely out of driver/module lifetime game. After
deletion, a sysfs node doesn't access anything outside sysfs proper,
so there's no reason to hold onto the attribute owners. Note that
often the wrong modules were accounted for as owners leading to
accessing removed modules.

This patch kills now unnecessary attribute->owner. Note that with
this change, userland holding a sysfs node does not prevent the
backing module from being unloaded.

For more info regarding lifetime rule cleanup, please read the
following message.

Cortron PS/2 Trackballs (700-0001A) report the 4th button using the 4th
bit of the first packet (yes, it breaks the standard PS/2 protocol).
This patch adds an extra protocol to generate BTN_SIDE based on the 4th
bit. There's no way to detect those trackballs using any kind of special
sequence, thus the protocol must be activated explicitely by writing
into 'protocol' sysfs attribute:

Tim Schmielau cd354f1ae7 [PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.h
After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h
recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes.
There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need
anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for
macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the
course of cleaning it up.

To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only
removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble.

Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha,
arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig,
allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all
configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were
introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted
by unnecessarily included header files).
