Rajendra Nayak e3f1adb63c mmc: omap_hsmmc: Don't expect MMC1 to always have vmmc supply

Now that all the mmc id based usage is removed, get rid of all the DEVID

Rajendra Nayak 1cb9af49a1 mmc: omap_hsmmc: Get rid of omap_hsmmc_4_set_power function
Now that omap_hsmmc_set_power() already has a check to return 0
if !host->vcc, it seems like it can be used even on MMC4 instead
of the dummy omap_hsmmc_4_set_power().

This also helps get rid of all the host->id based check to
populate the right function for on-chip/external level
shifting and use omap_hsmmc_set_power() for all MMC modules.

Rajendra Nayak 69b07ecee9 mmc: omap_hsmmc: Get rid of omap_hsmmc_1_set_power function
Use omap_hsmmc_235_set_poweri() (now renamed as omap_hsmmc_set_power())

completely.

omap_hsmmc_235_set_power() seems to be implemented as a superset of
omap_hsmmc_1_set_power() with additional functionality implemented
based on additional checks and hence should just work for MMC1
as well.

Seungwon Jeon 885c3e800c mmc: dw_mmc: Regression fix for non-IDMAC DMA
3ec7699d3bb1b0ee7 ("mmc: dw_mmc: Add support for pre_req and post_req")
broke non-IDMAC DMA, because dw_mci_pre_dma_transfer() is valid only if
using internal DMA. In case of using other DMA it returns -ENOSYS. It
prevents the DMA operations. This patch makes dw_mci_pre_dma_transfer()

Huang Shijie 921de864b7 mxs-dma : rewrite the last parameter of mxs_dma_prep_slave_sg()
[1] Background :
The GPMI does ECC read page operation with a DMA chain consist of three DMA
Command Structures. The middle one of the chain is used to enable the BCH,
and read out the NAND page.

The WAIT4END(wait for command end) is a comunication signal between
    the GPMI and MXS-DMA.

[2] The current DMA code sets the WAIT4END bit at the last one, such as:

    +-----+ +-----+ +-----+
    | cmd | ------------> | cmd | ------------------>  | cmd |
    +-----+ +-----+ +-----+
                                                          ^
                                                          |
                                                          |
                                                     set WAIT4END here

This chain works fine in the mx23/mx28.

[3] But in the new GPMI version (used in MX50/MX60), the WAIT4END bit should
be set not only at the last DMA Command Structure,
but also at the middle one, such as:

    +-----+ +-----+ +-----+
    | cmd | ------------> | cmd | ------------------>  | cmd |
    +-----+ +-----+ +-----+
                             ^ ^
                             | |
                             | |
set WAIT4END here too set WAIT4END here

If we do not set WAIT4END, the BCH maybe stalls in "ECC reading page" state.
In the next ECC write page operation, a DMA-timeout occurs.
This has been catched in the MX6Q board.

[4] In order to fix the bug, rewrite the last parameter of mxs_dma_prep_slave_sg(),
    and use the dma_ctrl_flags:
    ---------------------------------------------------------
DMA_PREP_INTERRUPT : append a new DMA Command Structrue.
DMA_CTRL_ACK : set the WAIT4END bit for this DMA Command Structure.
    ---------------------------------------------------------

[5] changes to the relative drivers:
<1> For mxs-mmc driver, just use the new flags, do not change any logic.
<2> For gpmi-nand driver, and use the new flags to set the DMA
chain, especially for ecc read page.

Stephen Warren 3e44a1a7d2 mmc: sdhci-tegra: Explicitly support Tegra30
Tegra30 differs from Tegra20 in a number of ways. This patch implements a
minimal set of differences in order to get the Cardhu board's SD slot and
eMMC working. Given the diffs between the mainline sdhci-tegra.c and our
downstream versions, I expect we'll eventually need to add many more
differences, hence the seemingly heavy-weight addition of the soc_data
structure.

* Tegra30 doesn't need to override register access to SDHCI_HOST_VERSION or
  SDHCI_INT_ENABLE.

* Tegra30 needs quirk SDHCI_QUIRK_DATA_TIMEOUT_USES_SDCLK.

"[PATCH 0/3] RFC - module.h usage cleanups in fs/ and lib/"

Fix up files in fs/ and lib/ dirs to only use module.h if they really
 need it.

These are trivial in scope vs. the work done previously. We now have
things where any few remaining cleanups can be farmed out to arch or
subsystem maintainers, and I have done so when possible. What is
remaining here represents the bits that don't clearly lie within a
single arch/subsystem boundary, like the fs dir and the lib dir.

Some duplicate includes arising from overlapping fixes from
independent subsystem maintainer submissions are also quashed.

This is because of a 64k request with a max_req_size of 64k-1 bytes.

The following patch fixes the problem by limiting the max_blk_count
such that max_blk_count * max_blk_size == max_req_size. I couldn't
pursuade the compiler to emit a shift instead of a div without encoding
the shift explicitly.

Sascha Hauer 5b6b0ad6e5 mmc: sdhci-esdhc-imx: fix for mmc cards on i.MX5
On i.MX53 we have to write a special SDHCI_CMD_ABORTCMD to the
SDHCI_TRANSFER_MODE register during a MMC_STOP_TRANSMISSION
command. This works for SD cards. However, with MMC cards
the MMC_SET_BLOCK_COUNT command is used instead, but this
needs the same handling. Fix MMC cards by testing for the
MMC_SET_BLOCK_COUNT command aswell. Tested on a custom i.MX53
board with a Transcend MMC+ card and eMMC.

The kernel started used MMC_SET_BLOCK_COUNT in 3.0, so this
is a regression for these boards introduced in 3.0; it should
go to 3.0/3.1/3.2-stable.

Guennadi Liakhovetski 5ba85d95ca mmc: sh_mmcif: fix late delayed work initialisation
If the driver is loaded with a card in the slot, mmc_add_host() will
schedule an immediate card-detection work, which will start IO and wait
for command completion. Usually the kernel first returns to the sh_mmcif
probe function, lets it finish and only then schedules the rescan work.
But sometimes, expecially under heavy system load, the work will be
scheduled immediately before returning to the probe method. In this case
it is important for the driver to be fully prepared for IO. For sh_mmcif
this means, that also the timeout work has to be initialised before
calling mmc_add_host(). It is also better to prepare interrupts
beforehand. Besides, since mmc_add_host() does card-detection itself,
there is no need to do it again immediately afterwards.

Roy Zang ba8c4dc998 mmc: esdhc: fix errors when booting kernel on Freescale eSDHC version 2.3
When eSDHC module is enabled on P5020/P3041/P2041/P1010 with eSDHC

mmc0: Timeout waiting for hardware interrupt.

mmc0: Timeout waiting for hardware interrupt.
mmc0: error -110 whilst initialising SD card
mmc0: Unexpected interrupt 0x02000000.

It is because eSDHC controller has different bit setting for PROCTL
register at 0x28 comparing SD specification.
This patch sets DMAS bits correctly for byte operation and does not
change the default value of other field of PROCTL register.

For other FSL chips, such as MPC8536/P2020, PROCTL[DMAS]
bits are reserved and even if they are set to wrong bits, it will not
take effective.

Fabio Estevam 7c5763b845 drivers: misc: Remove MISC_DEVICES config option
MISC_DEVICES option alone does not select any kernel code and can cause dependency build warnings, such as:

The purpose of the vdd_handler does not make sense. We remove it

A significant increase (10-20%) in performance throughput for
USB mass storage is the reason for incrementing the value.
By some reason the USB driver allocates buffers which requires
a scattergather list to contain a lot more than 16 elements to
get optimal performance. This change sets the maximum elements
to 128.

Tests with large reads and large writes (100 MiB) show that the
throughput increase is significant for write (10% for this test)
but not for read. Tests are run on a Linux host with ext4 FS on
the gadget mass storage device. The sg-len still exceeds 16 for
the read tests but the performance gain is low or nothing.

Rusty Russell 90ab5ee941 module_param: make bool parameters really bool (drivers & misc)
module_param(bool) used to counter-intuitively take an int. In

It's time to remove the int/unsigned int option. For this version
it'll simply give a warning, but it'll break next kernel version.

Giuseppe CAVALLARO df16219f36 mmc: debugfs: expose the SDCLK frq in sys ios
This patch is to expose the actual SDCLK frequency in
/sys/kernel/debug/mmcX/ios entry.

For example, if the max clk for a normal speed card is 20MHz this
is reported in /sys/kernel/debug/mmcX/ios. Unfortunately the actual
SDCLK frequency (i.e. Baseclock / divisor) is not reported at all:
for example, in that case, on Arasan HC, it should be 48/4=12 (MHz).

For clocks that support rates which can be set (most clocks other

Subsequent calls to clk_enable() need not be preceded with the

Ludovic Desroches 7e8ba228d9 mmc: atmel-mci: fix a potential issue about pending PDC interrupts
This patch fixes a potential issue about PDC interrupts. For example we
have a ENDRX pending interrupt and a RXBUFF pending interrupt. We have
received the RXBUFF interrupt but the transfer is not finished (so we
didn't have time to give a new buffer to the PDC controller). Then we
will compute ENDRX interrupt and we will give a new buffer to the PDC
controller, just after we will compute the RXBUFF interrupt and give
one or two new buffers to the PDC controller but we are not sure that
the first buffer given has been filled. So in this situation we may
have "lost" one sg buffer. It's the same for transmission.

Girish K S 49bb1e6195 mmc: sdhci-s3c: Fix mmc card I/O problem
This patch fixes the problem in sdhci-s3c host driver for Samsung Soc's.
During the card identification stage the mmc core driver enumerates for
the best bus width in combination with the highest available data rate.
It starts enumerating from the highest bus width (8) to lowest width (1).

In case of few MMC cards the 4-bit bus enumeration fails and tries
the 1-bit bus enumeration. When switched to 1-bit bus mode the host driver
has to clear the previous bus width setting and apply the new setting.

The current patch will clear the previous bus mode and apply the new
mode setting.

The mask used inside this macro was assuming Buffer_Size1's [BS1's]
width to be 14 bits, it is actually 13 bits. Modify masks used in
IDMAC_SET_BUFFER1_SIZE such that they use only 13 bits instead of
current 14.

Aaron Lu 78869618a8 mmc: sdhci: fix retuning timer wrongly deleted in sdhci_tasklet_finish
Currently, the retuning timer for retuning mode 1 will be deleted in
function sdhci_tasklet_finish after a mmc request done, which will make
retuning timing never trigger again. This patch fixed this problem.

Neither platform based nor dt based device needs to pass the parent
to sdhci_alloc_host. There is no difference between platform and dt

The patch makes the change to pass device itself than its parent to
sdhci_alloc_host for dt case too. Otherwise the probe function of
sdhci based drivers which is shared between platform and dt will
fail on dt case.
