158e928741 Input: bcm5974 - Add support for the Macbook 5 (Unibody)
This patch adds support for the new unibody Macbook, with physically
integrated button and trackpad. Since the integrated button changes
the logic for touch-and-click, a device capability bit mask is now
reported in input_id.version, which can be picked up by user space
via a EVIOCGID call.

6916d97f6e Input: bcm5974 - add quad-finger tapping
The integrated button on the new unibody Macbooks presents a need to
report explicit four-finger actions. Evidently, the finger pressing
the button is also touching the trackpad, so in order to fully support
three-finger actions, the driver must be able to report four-finger
actions. This patch adds a new button, BTN_TOOL_QUADTAP, which
achieves this.

The new unibody Macbooks are equipped with an integrated button and

eb990b5533 Input: add dm355evm_keys driver
Simple input driver support for the events reported by the
MSP430 firmware on the DM355 EVM. Verified using the RC5
remote included with the kit; docs weren't quite right.

Some of the keycode selections might need improvement; they
can be remapped, so there's at least a runtime workaround.
(I also suspect Linux may someday merit more generic support
for RC5 based remote controls.)

These events don't distinguish key press vs release events,
so this reports both and then skips the next event if it's
identical. The RC5 remote codes include a "toggle" bit that
can help detect autorepeated keys; but this driver doesn't
bother with those nuances.

This driver relies on the drivers/mfd/dm355evm_msp.c code
for core features, including sharing I2C access to this
firmware with GPIO, LED, and RTC support.

aa0b8f3687 drivers/input/serio/hp_sdc.c: fix crash when removing hp_sdc module
On parisc machines, which don't have HIL, removing the hp_sdc module
panics the kernel. Fix this by returning early in hp_sdc_exit() if no HP
SDC controller was found.

Add functionality to probe for the hp_sdc_mlc kernel module (which takes
care of the upper layer HIL functionality on parisc) after two seconds.

b2546df69b Input: elantech - make sure touchpad is really in absolute mode
There exist laptops with Elantech touchpads where switching to absolute mode
does not happen, although writing the configuration register succeeds
without error. Reading back the register afterwards reveils that the
absolute mode bit is not set as if masked out by the touchpad firmware.

Always read back register 0x10, make sure that for hardware version 1 the
absolute mode bit is actually set and fail otherwise. This prevents the case
where the touchpad is claimed by the Elantech driver but is nonetheless not
working.

bf6aede712 workqueue: add to_delayed_work() helper function
It is a fairly common operation to have a pointer to a work and to need a
pointer to the delayed work it is contained in. In particular, all
delayed works which want to rearm themselves will have to do that. So it
would seem fair to offer a helper function for this operation.

99b7623380 proc 2/2: remove struct proc_dir_entry::owner
Setting ->owner as done currently (pde->owner = THIS_MODULE) is racy
as correctly noted at bug #12454. Someone can lookup entry with NULL
->owner, thus not pinning enything, and release it later resulting
in module refcount underflow.

We can keep ->owner and supply it at registration time like ->proc_fops
and ->data.

But this leaves ->owner as easy-manipulative field (just one C assignment)
and somebody will forget to unpin previous/pin current module when
switching ->owner. ->proc_fops is declared as "const" which should give
some thoughts.

->read_proc/->write_proc were just fixed to not require ->owner for
protection.

rmmod'ed directories will be empty and return "." and ".." -- no harm.
And directories with tricky enough readdir and lookup shouldn't be modular.
We definitely don't want such modular code.

Removing ->owner will also make PDE smaller.

So, let's nuke it.

Kudos to Jeff Layton for reminding about this, let's say, oversight.

60aa49243d Rationalize fasync return values
Most fasync implementations do something like:

     return fasync_helper(...);

But fasync_helper() will return a positive value at times - a feature used
in at least one place. Thus, a number of other drivers do:

     err = fasync_helper(...);
     if (err < 0)
             return err;
     return 0;

In the interests of consistency and more concise code, it makes sense to
map positive return values onto zero where ->fasync() is called.

d9bdffd210 Input: add driver for S1 button of rb532
Mikrotik's Routerboard 532 has two builtin buttons, from which one
triggers a hardware reset. The other one is accessible through GPIO
pin 1. Sadly, this pin is being multiplexed with UART0 input, so
enabling it as interrupt source (as implied by the gpio-keys driver)
is not possible unless UART0 has been turned off. The later one though
is a rather bad idea as the Routerboard is an embedded device with
only a single serial port, so it's almost always used as serial
console device.

This patch adds a driver based on INPUT_POLLDEV, which disables the
UART and reconfigures GPIO pin 1 temporarily while reading the button
state. This procedure works fine and has been tested as part of
another, unpublished driver for this device.

This patch updates the maple bus to support asynchronous block reads
and writes as well as generally improving the quality of the code and
supporting concurrency (all needed to support the Dreamcast visual

Changes in the bus driver necessitate some changes in the two maple bus
input drivers that are currently in mainline.

As well as supporting block reads and writes this code clean up removes
some poor handling of locks, uses an atomic status variable to serialise
access to devices and more robusly handles the general performance
problems of the bus.

d329e33c7c Input: ati_remote2 - add per device attrs
Add per device channel_mask and mode_mask attributes. They inherit
the values from the module parameters when the device is registered.
One additional benefit is that now runtime changes to channel_mask
can actually affect the hardware channel setup like they should.

e7b5c1ef4d Input: stop autorepeat timer on key release
Whenever you press and then release a key, the CPU wakes up
three times:
 * press
 * release
 * autorepeat timer exactly 250ms after press

The autorepeat timer has nothing to do, obviously, since you already
have released the key, so stop it on key release.

[dtor@mail.ru: This changes autorepeat behavior a bit since we now stop
 autorepeat even if key that is being released is not the one that is
 being auto-repeated, but I believe the new behavior is better.]

4272ebfbef x86: allow more than 8 cpus to be used on 32-bit
X86_PC is the only remaining 'sub' architecture, so we dont need
it anymore.

This also cleans up a few spurious references to X86_PC in the
driver space - those certainly should be X86.

27f23336bc Input: spitzkbd - mark probe function as __devinit
A pointer to spitzkbd_probe is passed to the core via
platform_driver_register and so the function must not disappear when the
.init sections are discarded. Otherwise (if also having HOTPLUG=y)
unbinding and binding a device to the driver via sysfs will result in an
oops as does a device being registered late.

An alternative to this patch is using platform_driver_probe instead of
platform_driver_register plus removing the pointer to the probe function
from the struct platform_driver.
