Giuseppe CAVALLARO 5f42f7bc96 stmmac: fix GMAC syn ID
Erroneously the DWMAC_CORE_3_40 was set to 34 instead of 0x34.
This can generate problems when run on old chips because
the driver assumes that there are the extra 16 regs available
for perfect filtering.

Arnd Bergmann f5addb91d1 net/stmmac: mark probe function as __devinit
Driver probe functions are generally __devinit so they will be
discarded after initialization for non-hotplug kernels.
This was found by a new warning after patch 6a228452d "stmmac: Add
device-tree support" adds a new __devinit function that is called
from stmmac_pltfr_probe.

Without this patch, building socfpga_defconfig results in:

WARNING: drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/stmmac.o(.text+0x5d4c): Section mismatch in reference from the function stmmac_pltfr_probe() to the function .devinit.text:stmmac_probe_config_dt()
The function stmmac_pltfr_probe() references
the function __devinit stmmac_probe_config_dt().
This is often because stmmac_pltfr_probe lacks a __devinit
annotation or the annotation of stmmac_probe_config_dt is wrong.

Deepak Sikri 684901a6df stmmac: Fix for higher mtu size handling
For the higher mtu sizes requiring the buffer size greater than 8192,
the buffers are sent or received using multiple dma descriptors/ same
descriptor with option of multi buffer handling.
It was observed during tests that the driver was missing on data
packets during the normal ping operations if the data buffers being used
catered to jumbo frame handling.

The memory barrriers are added in between preparation of dma descriptors
in the jumbo frame handling path to ensure all instructions before
enabling the dma are complete.

Giuseppe CAVALLARO d765955d2a stmmac: add the Energy Efficient Ethernet support
This patch adds the Energy Efficient Ethernet support to the stmmac.

Please see the driver's documentation for further details about this support
in the driver.

Thanks also goes to Rayagond Kokatanur for his first implementation.

Note:
 to clearly manage and expose the lpi interrupt status and eee ethtool
 stats I've had to do some modifications to the driver's design and I
 found really useful to move other parts of the code (e.g. mmc irq stat)
 in the main directly. So this means that some core has been reworked
 to introduce the EEE.

v1: initial patch
v2: fixed some sparse issues (typos)
v3: erroneously sent the v2 renamed as v3
v4:
	o Fixed the return value of the stmmac_eee_init as suggested by D.Miller
	o Totally reviewed the ethtool support for EEE
	o Added a new internal parameter to tune the SW timer for TX LPI.
v5: do not change any eee setting in case of the stmmac_ethtool_op_set_eee fails
    (it has to return -EOPNOTSUPP in that case).

Giuseppe CAVALLARO 33d5e332b9 stmmac: fix driver built w/ w/o both pci and platf modules
The commit ba27ec66ff fixes the Kconfig of the

exclusive. This patch fixes and guarantees that the driver
builds on all the platforms w/ w/o PCI and when select/unselect
the two stmmac supports. In case of there are some problems
on both the configuration and the pci/pltf registration the
module_init will fail.

Giuseppe CAVALLARO 0f1f88a875 stmmac: verify the dma_cfg platform fields
Recently the dma parameters that can be passed from the platform
have been moved from the plat_stmmacenet_data to the stmmac_dma_cfg.

In case of this new structure is not well allocated the driver can
fails. This is an example how this field is managed in ST platforms

static struct stmmac_dma_cfg gmac_dma_setting = {
        .pbl = 32,
};

static struct plat_stmmacenet_data stih415_ethernet_platform_data[] = {
	{
		.dma_cfg = &gmac_dma_setting,
		.has_gmac = 1,
[snip]

This patch so verifies that the dma_cfg passed from the platform.
In case of it is NULL there is no reason that the driver has to fail
and some default values can be passed. These are ok for all the
Synopsys chips and could impact on performances, only.

Giuseppe CAVALLARO 19e30c1437 stmmac: parameters auto-tuning through HW cap reg
New GMAC devices (newer than the databook 3.50a) have the
HW capability register that provides which features are actually
supported by the hardware.

On old devices many information have to be passed through the
platform, for example: enhanced descriptor structure,
TX COE etc. These are mandatory to properly configure the driver.
This remains still valid because the driver has to support old
Synopsys devices but now it's also able to override them using the
values from the HW capability register if supported.

Giuseppe CAVALLARO 3c20f72f91 stmmac: update normal descriptor structure (v2)
This patch updates the normal descriptor structure
to work fine on new GMAC Synopsys chips.

Normal descriptors were designed on the old MAC10/100
databook 1.91 where some bits were reserved: for example
the tx checksum insertion and rx checksum offload.

The patch maintains the back-compatibility with old
MAC devices (tested on STx7109 MAC10/100) and adds new
fields that actually new GMAC devices can use.

For example, STx7109 (MAC10/100) will pass from the platform
  tx_coe = 0, enh_desc = 0, has_gmac = 0.
A platform like Loongson1B (GMAC) will pass:
  tx_coe = 1, enh_desc = 0, has_gmac = 1.

Thanks to Kelvin, he enhanced the normal descriptors for
GMAC (on MIPS Loongson1B platform).

Giuseppe CAVALLARO 45db81e159 stmmac: limit max_mtu in case of 4KiB and use __netdev_alloc_skb (V2)
Problem using big mtu around 4096 bytes is you end allocating (4096
+NET_SKB_PAD + NET_IP_ALIGN + sizeof(struct skb_shared_info) bytes ->

It's better to limit the mtu to SKB_MAX_HEAD(NET_SKB_PAD),
to have no more than one page per skb.

Also the patch changes the netdev_alloc_skb_ip_align() done in

Giuseppe CAVALLARO 286a837217 stmmac: add CHAINED descriptor mode support (V4)
This patch enhances the STMMAC driver to support CHAINED mode of
descriptor.

STMMAC supports DMA descriptor to operate both in dual buffer(RING)
and linked-list(CHAINED) mode. In RING mode (default) each descriptor
points to two data buffer pointers whereas in CHAINED mode they point
to only one data buffer pointer.

In CHAINED mode each descriptor will have pointer to next descriptor in
the list, hence creating the explicit chaining in the descriptor itself,
whereas such explicit chaining is not possible in RING mode.

First version of this work has been done by Rayagond.
Then the patch has been reworked avoiding ifdef inside the C code.
A new header file has been added to define all the functions needed for
managing enhanced and normal descriptors.
In fact, these have to be specialized according to the ring/chain usage.
Two new C files have been also added to implement the helper routines
needed to manage: jumbo frames, chain and ring setup (i.e. desc3).

Giuseppe CAVALLARO a9097a9666 stmmac: protect tx process with lock (V4)
This patch fixes a problem raised on Orly ARM SMP platform
where, in case of fragmented frames, the descriptors
in the TX ring resulted broken. This was due to a missing lock
protection in the tx process.

Srinivas Kandagatla 79ee1dc32b stmmac: Stop advertising 1000Base capabilties for non GMII iface (V4).
This patch stops advertising 1000Base capablities if GMAC is either
configured for MII or RMII mode and on board there is a GPHY plugged on.
Without this patch if an GBit switch is connected on MII interface,
Ethernet stops working at all.

Eric Dumazet 9e903e0852 net: add skb frag size accessors
To ease skb->truesize sanitization, its better to be able to localize
all references to skb frags size.

Define accessors : skb_frag_size() to fetch frag size, and
skb_frag_size_{set|add|sub}() to manipulate it.

Jeff Kirsher aaba215ca0 MII: fix Kconfig dependencies for MII
MII Kconfig option is apart of the core networking drivers and
by default NET_CORE is enabled so drivers selecting MII will
have MII enabled as well. It was found using the randconfig
option during testing, MII would be selected but NET_CORE
could be disabled. This caused a dependency error.

Resolved the dependency by selecting NET_CORE when MII is
selected.

Giuseppe CAVALLARO 1c901a46d5 stmmac: add MMC support exported via ethtool (v3)
This patch adds the MMC management counters support.
MMC module is an extension of the register address

via ethtoo -S ethX.

Note that, the MMC interrupts remain masked and the logic
to handle this kind of interrupt will be added later (if
actually useful).

Jeff Kirsher 88f07484cc drivers/net/ethernet/*: Enabled vendor Kconfig options
Based on finds for Stephen Rothwell, where current defconfig's
enable a ethernet driver and it is not compiled due to the newly
added NET_VENDOR_* component of Kconfig.

This patch enables all the "new" Kconfig options so that current
defconfig's will continue to compile the expected drivers. In
addition, by enabling all the new Kconfig options does not add
any un-expected options.
